Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive Behavior Therapy has been shown to be highly effective for the treatment of anxiety, depression, OCD and related disorders. I have utilized CBT for over ten years and have seen many people get better from our work together. CBT is a treatment approach that can help you change problematic thoughts or behaviors, which then changes the way you feel. CBT focuses on the here-and-now, so that you can learn practical and effective strategies for coping. Our work will be collaborative and goal-oriented, which allows many people to experience symptom relief within a short period of time.

In addition to the standard CBT, I also utilize other forms of CBT that include:

  • Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD and other anxiety disorders

  • Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) for values based living

  • Cognitive Processing Therapy and Prolonged Exposure Therapy for PTSD

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for emotion regulation

  • Habit Reversal Therapy (HRT) for trichotillomania and dermatillomania

  • Comprehensive Behavior Intervention for Tics (CBIT)
