Evidence-Based Therapy for Anxiety and OCD
Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive Behavior Therapy has been shown to be highly effective for the treatment of anxiety, depression, OCD and related disorders. I have utilized CBT for over 15 years and have seen many people get better from our work together. CBT is a treatment approach that can help you change problematic thoughts or behaviors, which then changes the way you feel. CBT focuses on the here-and-now, so that you can learn practical and effective strategies for coping. Our work will be collaborative and goal-oriented, which allows many people to experience symptom relief within a short period of time.
In addition to the standard CBT, I also utilize other forms of CBT that include:
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD and other anxiety disorders
Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) for values based living
Cognitive Processing Therapy and Prolonged Exposure Therapy for PTSD
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for emotion regulation
Habit Reversal Therapy (HRT) for trichotillomania and dermatillomania
Comprehensive Behavior Intervention for Tics (CBIT)
